Filanthropie Consultancy is a boutique philanthropy consulting firm specializing in Small Town America from the Atlantic Ocean to the Appalachian Mountains. Founded in 2018 we help build the philanthropic assets rural America needs to be a great place for the next generation to grow up and raise their families.

Our clients tend to have big changes in mind beyond donating money to a nonprofit — the business owner who wants an YMCA in his hometown, the children’s charity building a forever home, the community foundation sustaining its geographic scope, the cultural arts venue preserving its building for a second century of service, or the food pantry ending hunger in the neighborhood.

Jessica K. Drake, MA, CFRE, (principal philanthropic consultant) founded Filanthropie Consultancy at the encouragement of her first two clients. She brings a teacher’s heart to her work, coaching philanthropists and nonprofit leaders step-by-step. Jessica brings her unique full-suite of strategic thinking and personable leadership skills to embolden transformational dreamers in the philanthropic world. She holds a B.A. in English from Chowan University and a M.A. in Political Science from Virginia Tech. She serves on nonprofits boards including Virginia Rural Leadership Institute, Community Action Coalition of Virginia, and the Academie of St Joan of Arc. She is currently a trustee at her undergraduate alma mater. She is the wife of a retired Marine combat veteran. They have 6 children, who they are launching one by one into the world as amazing contributors and good people.
